People who are considering buying property in Spain so they can relocate there permanently have been advised to put in as much effort and planning as possible.
This is the recommendation of Shelter Offshore, which said that those who do not have enough money to retire on or who are of working age should focus on finding employment in the Iberian nation.
It noted that learning to speak Spanish would provide jobseekers moving to Spain with a distinct advantage over other expatriates.
However, it advised those making the move from the UK to Spain to consider whether they want to find work before or after they move.
Those who do not have a position when they relocate might be able to attend interviews in person and be more proactive in their search, but on the other hand they might be required to live off their savings until they find work.
This comes after real estate listings network Mondinion.com revealed that Spain was one of the most searched for nations among UK property buyers in the last month, with the Costa Brava proving particularly popular.
