spain property good to firm in places
News Posted On: 29 November 2011
It is getting harder and harder to doubt that the Spanish property market is seeing a recovery of sorts. On one side you have the reports from last week that Spanish borrowing costs had touched upon 7%, which has established itself as a kind of bailout cut-off point. But then on the other we have reports like the one from Canary Islands developer Gold acre Estates of a record-breaking run of sales.
What is clear is that good properties in the right areas are selling well, while properties in overdeveloped areas are joining those of sellers still refusing to price realistically in languishing on the market for months.
OPP has just covered the story from GoldAcre Estates, which sold 12 properties in its Miramar residential development in Caleta de Fuste on Fuerteventura in 7 days.
"this has been an incredible achievement by the whole team here at GoldAcre Estates. The housing markets has been a difficult place to operate in for the last few years and this is a sign of the strengthening confidence in property purchase here on Fuerteventura."
The Canary Islands are a prime example of the sporadic recovery, for several months now we have been hearing reports that sales on the islands are recovering well, and this latest report is evidence of this. GoldAcre sales manager Nicolas Tan put it a bit strongly in OPP:
"Fuerteventura is a fantastic location," he said, and the upturn in sales "gives proof that the Spanish property market is still a strong market place with clients willing to invest in the offers available."
