People who are looking to purchase a property in Spain may be reassured by a growing sense that its economy is picking up.
Investors who are thinking of purchasing a property abroad in Spain may be drawn to the country by the prospect of an economic recovery.
The European nation has been badly affected by the global financial crisis, but its economy minister believes the situation could turn around in 2010, Reuters reports.
"Recovery is not here, but it could be next year," said Elena Salgado.
This suggests that investors who take advantage of the current low house prices in the country could benefit from capital appreciation thereafter.
Ms Salgado added that in recent weeks there have been "signs of an inflection point" both on a national and global level.
She noted that while they were "very weak", they do exist.
This comes after data from real estate listings network Mondinion.com revealed that Spain was one of the most searched for nations among would-be property buyers over the last month.
Barcelona on the Costa Brava was identified as a particularly popular location with those searching for property abroad.
