top five reasons to buy property on the costa brava
News Posted On: 06 July 2009
With the recession still gripping the UK, many people might want to escape overseas - whether to live or for regular breaks - and few places are likely to be as attractive as the Costa Brava.
It offers warm weather, cheap and easy accessibility, plenty of historical sites, beautiful beaches and a range of activities for families and children.
Figures from Holiday-Weather.com indicate that the lowest average monthly temperature in the area is still a temperate 13 degrees C, which goes up to 27 degrees C in the height of summer.
The Sunday Times recently quoted figures from Cheapflights.co.uk, which suggested that the cost of flying to Barcelona is as much as 41 per cent cheaper this year than it was in 2008, surely a good reason to consider buying property in the region.
There is also a wealth of historical sites, such as the village of Sant Antoni De Calonge or Castell de Sant Joan.
Far from the "package tour hell" of other Mediterranean destinations, Annie Bennett told the Telegraph that the Costa Brava has some fantastic coastal areas, such as the Cap de Creus and Playja de Pals.
She noted that the latter is perfect for families and the Costa Brava features such a variety of activities to keep children entertained - such as Water World, the Mediterranean's largest water park - that it could be a perfect destination for families.
