Property experts have asserted that buyers considering an overseas investment could find that Phuket, Thailand offers a safe place for a purchase.
According to Rebecca Smith of Property-Report.com, the "fundamentals" of the property market in Phuket are "excellent" and there are a number of high quality homes available in the region.
She said that there are no "bubbles" in the market and this increases the level of safety for those purchasing a home in Phuket.
Her views are echoed by Stephen Hughes, managing director of Pearl of Naithon, who said: "Phuket is holding up its price points and sales volume very well compared with its overseas competition."
Ms Smith noted that while prices are holding up in Phuket, buyers who shop around and do their research should be able to find bargains in the region.
She claimed that some properties have been reduced by as much as 30 per cent to stimulate interest.
Property expert Nick Marr recently said that Thai islands, such as Phuket and Koh Samui, are providing good alternatives to property investors looking for a residence in Thailand.
