Thailand is proving to be a popular destination for British holidaymakers, which could make buying property in the country a lucrative investment.
According to Sian Williams, country manager for trivago UK, Thailand is particularly attractive to Britons because it is cheap.
Once the flights have been paid for, UK leisure travellers can enjoy a break in the sun on a relatively small budget compared to its eurozone competitors.
"With the high rates at the moment, people are looking for destinations further afield. For example, Thailand is a big destination for Brits at the moment," Ms Williams said.
She noted that spending a week in a eurozone country could be extremely expensive, but that a holiday in Thailand might prove a cheap but enjoyable option for many.
This could be welcome news to those thinking of buying property in Thailand as a steady stream of vacationers could lead to good rental yields.
According to Cheapflights.co.uk and trivago, trips to non-eurozone and long-haul destinations have increased in popularity over the last year.
