retirees should buy property in thailand
News Posted On: 20 March 2009
Britons looking to retire in the sun have been advised to consider buying property in Thailand.
According to Shelter Offshore, the south-east Asian country is keen to attract expats because the government believes they are good for the economy.
Consequently, the online portal reported that the authorities are trying to attract property buyers from overseas.
As well as a sympathetic government, those who opt to purchase a home in Thailand could also benefit from a number of lifestyle attractions, such as attractive scenery and friendly locals.
Shelter Offshore reminded buyers who plan to live in the country that they need to ensure they meet the legal requirements before heading overseas, such as being free from any criminal convictions.
It added that having a good source of income is also important because it prevents them from becoming a drain on the local economy.
Earlier this week, Shelter Offshore reported that people who acquire homes in Thailand are seeing annual property appreciation between ten and 15 per cent.
