retirees could benefit from buying property in turkey

Retirees from the UK can enjoy a number of lifestyle benefits by purchasing overseas property in Turkey, it has been claimed.
A recent study from the Institute for Public Policy Research suggested that one in eight UK residents over 55 years old will be living in property abroad by 2010, reports the Daily Mail.
According to Julian Walker of Turkish property specialist Spot Blue, the country is a "logical choice" for those who want to balance an improved lifestyle with lower expenses.
"The warm climate in the south allows people to spend a healthier life outdoors and the cost of day-to-day living is significantly cheaper than back home," Mr Walker said.
With the recent decline in value of the pound against the euro, increasing numbers of retirees thinking of relocating overseas are likely to opt for non-eurozone countries, such as Turkey.
Property buyers might be encouraged to purchase homes in Turkey by comments from real estate expert Liam Bailey of Write About Property, who said that the Turkish market is one of the few that is still strong.
