Information on Airports in the United Arab Emirates

United Arab Emirates is served by several large international airports. Dubai International Airport serves the country’s prestige development of Dubai. A three-terminal airport, a shuttle service and travelators join the terminals and concourses. The airport itself is located on the Airport Road, on the East side of Al-Khor. It is accessible by the airport rail link and by bus services which stop outside Terminals One and Two. Dubai International Airport Busses provide air-conditioned transport from the airport into Dubai and to more than 80 of Dubai’s hotels. Prepaid taxis can be booked 24 hours a day in the terminal 2 arrivals hall.

The airport has banking services and ATMs in both terminals, and there are 24 hour Bureaux de Change near gates 8, 18 and 22 and a 24 hour post office near the Sheikh Rashid Departures concourse. A duty free shop in the airport also offers foreign exchange, banking and internet facilities. There are more than 25 restaurants and bars in the Sheikh Rashid departures concourse, and an Irish Village near gate 23. The airport is unusually well adapted for disabled passengers, with desks dedicated to helping disabled passengers and electric carts to transport passengers to and from the departures concourse. Nevertheless passengers should check with their airline before travelling.

Al Ain International serves the city of Al Ain and is located on the Suleimat Road, the main highway leading out of Al Ain. Public busses connect the centre of Al Ain with the airport. The journey time into the city is usually about 30 minutes. A taxi service, Al Ghazal Taxis, operates a fixed-rate service to the centre of Al Ain. The airport is accessible to wheelchair users and there are toilets adapted to disabled passengers’ use.
