Health Care
Health facilities in UAE are top-notch but quite expensive. Some UK prescriptions and Over-The-Counter (OTC) medicines are illegal in the country
The authorities in UAE strongly advise full travel insurance for all travellers to the country, including the cover for adventure activities.
Travel Advice
From time to time, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in the UK issues Travel Advisories for visits to UAE. Accordingly, most visits to UAE are trouble-free but the global threat from international terrorism can never be ruled out. In fact, the terror threat in UAE is quite high in the country in the wake of constant threats from terrorists to strike the vital places of tourists’ interest and important military and oil installations. Therefore, the travellers should take adequate precautions while visiting the places of tourists’ interest in UAE.
Local protests and demonstrations could easily turn violent. Visitors would do well to keep themselves updated and avoid getting caught in any of these protests.
At the time of publishing, this information is correct. However, the travel advice is periodically and rapidly updated. Therefore, all the visitors are advised to contact at the following addresses for the latest travel advice:

Passport
Passport is required for all nationals of the countries as mentioned in the chart above
Passport must be valid for at least three months (six months for business travel) from the date of arrival
Sometimes, a sponsor might hold a visitor’s passports. In all such cases, a receipt is issued, which is generally accepted in lieu of passport, if the transaction requires a passport.
Visa
Visa is required by all nationals of the abovementioned countries for business or touristic stays up to 30 days (extendable up to 90 days on request), provided they fulfil the requirement of Resident and Nationalisation Authorities, except:
Note 1: nationals of Cyprus, Lithuania, Malta, Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Hungary, Slovenia, Poland, and Slovak Republic, who need visa unless they are transit passengers holding valid travel documents and not leaving the airport for up to 12 hours.
UK nationals must note that they must travel with a passport mentioning ‘British Citizen’ as national status.
No entry or transit allowed for those holding travel documents issued by Lebanon, the Syrian Arab Republic, or the Coalition Authority in Iraq, if they have obtained their visa through an associate in UAE.
Normally, the UAE embassy issues visa for diplomatic or some business visits. For all other kinds of visas, including transit visas, the visitors are advised to get in touch with the sponsors (like hotels, package tour operators, any UAE resident or company). For all such visas, the sponsor is required to furnish the visitor’s proposed flight and passport details in advance. Business visits to the country are made by invitation only and proof of company trading licence is required. The sponsor will then confirm to the visitor that a visa has been arranged, usually by fax, and that she/he will be met at the airport.
Israeli stamp endorsement is recognised in UAE
The nationals of all countries, not mentioned in the chart above, should contact their local embassy for visa requirements.
Visa Fee for UK travellers: Visitor & Business – £20 (30 days extendable up to 90 days on request). Visa charges for other nationals vary. Multiple entry visas issued rarely with a clear request from the sponsor.
Working Days Required: Usually, between 1 and 5, if arranged through a sponsor. Possible delay on account of approval procedure
